This is a little bit of a longer read, but is helpful to wrestle through the age-old question of the problem of evil. That problem is simply this: Christians believe God is all-powerful and all-good, yet evil exists in the world. Therefore, either God isn’t all-powerful (or else he’d prevent evil), or he isn’t all-good (because he has the power to stop evil and doesn’t).
While we wouldn't affirm the conclusion of this question, the question is one we need to wrestle with. There isn't a silver-bullet answer, but when you consider the totally of what the scripture reveals about God's nature and purposes in this world, we can walk confidently that our God is indeed good and that he has good purposes even for evil.
