Tragedy Overload

I've felt it. Surely you have as well. What seems to be major tragic event after tragic event scrolling across our (numerous) screens. I've commented to friends recently that many of these events (not all of them) would have just been locally focused in the past but are amplified exponentially through our constant access to media.

The writer of this article calls this "faux omniscience" and he's right that we probably aren't meant to know and carry this much tragic information. His suggestions at the end for curtailing that overload are helpful.
