I've been thinking about this for several years (really since the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017) - when did Jesus die?
Why so much thought to that? Because we are coming upon the 2,000 year anniversary since his death and resurrection. But when would we celebrate that? Some scholars think Jesus died in AD 29. Others say it is AD 30 and still others in AD 33.
Because of calendar differences between the Romans and the Jewish people I don't know if we will ever know the year with certainty. We know that he died and rose again, and that is enough.
BUT, I am going to celebrate that 2,000th anniversary at some point and it will likely be in 2033. This article is a bit technical, but interesting nonetheless. When do YOU think we should celebrate the 2,000th anniversary of the Lord's death and resurrection?
