John Piper does a really good job here of tackling an important truth about how we approach work. I think sometimes we elevate ministry work and minimize the importance of non-ministry work, not realizing that every believer has the chance to show the goodness and greatness of God in whatever work they do, even in the seemingly mundane or "non-spiritual" things.
Here's the money line: "God doesn’t need our work. That’s not the point. Paul gave us these instructions because this will bring the greatest joy to us when we work this way, and it will show that God is our greatest treasure."
