Low-tide Evangelism

This is a lengthy, but excellent article that includes some good cultural analysis (much like the article on ambivalent world). The heart of the article focuses on how the overall recession of commonly held Christian morality has left those who aren't Christian but still hold those values asking important questions about how to hold on to these beliefs. The answer is ultimately rooted in where these beliefs originated - transformation by the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Be sure to read the seven steps along the low-tide path as well as the seven worries people on this path might have.

You might wonder why I post so many articles on cultural analysis. My hope is that you will be equipped with a variety of tools to see where many of the people you will meet are at in their thinking so that you can more effectively engage them with the gospel. In our day and culture we want to be like the 200 sons of Issachar who understood the times and knew what to Israel ought to do (I Chronicles 12:32).

Long read but food for pondering. I've seen articles about buying Bibles on AZ. There is a book from Navpress. N/A from 10ofthose, but Justin Gravitts wrote 5 articles on the Foundation of a discipling culture. I began at the end. He spoke of Jesus discipling his inner circle (andrew, peter, james, John and there was one other) for a year before the 12 were chosen. How he made them into a team. He interacted with twos and ones and triads just doing life. "Only a disciplemaker can effectually lead a disciplemaking culture" don't stop your outside activities-IMHO.
