Gentle parenting has become a source of humor in our family. I admire some of the heart behind it, but it ultimately isn't biblical or practical in the real world. Trevin Wax writes on what gentle parenting is and how it cheats children of what they really need as they prepare to enter the world.
There are two opportunities for us in this: to help those who were raised by gentle parenting to see the deep need of their soul for redemption and to help young parents now see the overall inadequacy and unbiblical nature of this approach while giving them a positive view of what the Scriptures teaches about raising and discipling children.
