It was 508 years ago TODAY (October 31) that Martin Luther posted the 95 Theses on the Wittenburg Chapel door. Luther is a complicated character (for many reasons), but is also a giant of fervent courage whom God used to spark the Protestant Reformation. About 10 years after he posted the Theses, Luther was facing an incredible time of suffering in his ministry and personal life. It was during that tumultuous year that he wrote, "A Mighty Fortress is Our God". Packed with truth it reminds us that "the right man is on our side" and that "his kingdom is forever".
We'll be singing this great hymn Sunday morning. Take a moment to reflect on its profound truth and prepare your hearts to worship the one who from "age to age is the same".
