Matt-18:15-20-Healthy Correction-June 09, 2024am
A healthy church practices correction and discipline because sin is serious, sheep are valuable, purity is important and Jesus commands it. If outsiders think Christians are weird, let it be because of our biblical following, not our sins. When we act as closely as humanly possible to the leadership of God’s word we reflect God’s light to others. If members practice unrepentant and undisciplined sin, it brings poor light to our God. Many times if we stray from the path, it is a comforting thought that a loving brother or sister would show us that we stepped off.
A healthy church is word driven, doctrinally sound, and gospel-centered, leading to regenerate, outwardly focused members who gather for common mission, accountability, prayer, and growth by following the teaching and example of elders.
