James 1:26-27-Pure Religion-August 11, 2024am

Pastor Matt uses two short verses to lay out how our mouth is a flawless x-ray of the condition of our heart. Your mouth, heart and holiness expose our true religion or quality of our faith. If our religion is pure, our tongues will be bridled and our compassion for others will be unbridled, and our holiness will be guarded. We will not be mired in corrupting foul talk and gossip. We will help others regardless of self gain, and we will be set apart from the world, because Christ has made us spotless. All of this is only through the work of God’s Spirit in us, we can’t do it on our own. 

Living Faith is

*Real; 1:2-2:27 it’s tested, holy, compassionate and visible

*Humble; 3:1-5:6 it’s self aware, selfless, submissive and sympathetic

*Expectant; 5:7-5:20 it’s persevering and praying.
